I'm Phil Harvey, a technology writer and editor in Fort Worth. I like to take photos, especially black and white portraits. My latest photography project is called, "We are in this together (alone)."
Coming soon: Two of my portraits will be on display in the beautiful TRAHC Regional Arts Center in downtown Texarkana. The works were selected as part of the TRAHC Juried Exhibition, which opens August 21, 2020. #trahcJE
Artspace111 is serious about giving Texas artists a platform. When it held the Texas Juried Exhibition, the gallery picked less than 100 works from 67 artists across the state. In the Texas Now 2020 online showcase, they've shared every single piece submitted for consideration – more than 1,900 works – as part of a massive public art sale and exhibition from July 25 to Aug. 29, 2020.
I was honored to be among the 67 Texas artists in the Artspace111 Texas Juried Exhibition. The show was juried by Kristen Gaylord, Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The one-minute film above, created by Fort Worth's Make Something Beautiful, features that lovely statewide art showcase.
I have three portraits that are part of the TEXAS NOW online showcase. Check it out.
What would it feel like to have a high school career interrupted by a global pandemic? I worked with a group of Texas high school sophomores to create a stylized, visual reminder of their unprecedented year.
